Young Living essential oils are an amazing tool to help balance mood and create harmony in our lives. 10 years ago, I was looking to find a natural alternative to anti-depressant medications, and a reputable psychotherapist recommended them to me.

Truthfully, I was skeptical that aromatherapy, or essential oils to help us “relax,” would balance my mood. Well, I was wrong. I used a blend called Joy daily over my heart center, and it always immediately lifted my spirits. I used another blend, called Peace and Calming whenever I felt anxious and it was very helpful. I did this throughout the day because I enjoyed it. About three months after I started doing this my husband noticed that my mood was more balanced. I hadn’t really taken notice until he said it, but there was no denying that I was less anxious, better able to handle stress, and generally, happier.

I began to experiment with other blends, such as Harmony, White Angelica, Forgiveness, and several other blends created for emotional balance. I used them during my meditations, along with affirmations, or simply as an enjoyable addition to my daily routine. I shared them with friends who I knew would benefit from them. Everyone I introduced them to loved them as much as I did. Suddenly I had an organization of people purchasing Young Living essential oils each month based on my referral. Even though I didn’t want it, I had a small growing business based on essential oils.

Today I write about how depression can be helped using essential oils along with natural, probiotic-rich and nutrient-dense foods. I’ve been medication free for 10 years, and I can say with sureness that I am absolutely free of the biochemical struggle that was my depression. During the time that I’ve been off of medication, I’ve had two children with no post-partum depression, and while we’ve experienced our share of stress and troubles, I’ve not had a single relapse. I work with people in my organization to educate others about natural steps they can take to balance their moods. I’ve created wonderful friendships with the people in through Young Living and I am always working to support and educate anyone in my group who is interested in learning more, whether it’s to support themselves in health, or to learn to grow a business.

Serendipitously, having a Young Living essential oil business has worked to create greater meaning in my life, further healing my past depression. I am so thankful that I was introduced to them and I’ve been able to share them with others.
