The one thing that always catches the eyes of your guests is the surface of your furniture, tabletops, racks and shelves. An easy and hassle free way to keep them clean is to use a dry cleaning sponge to wipe away the surface dirt. Here are some advantages of using a chemical dry cleaning sponge.

This specialized sponge is made from cellulose foam-latex, and is designed for dry use, much like a soft erasure sponge. It can be used to clean felt hats and lampshades, drywall and other upholstery. You can use it to wipe the dust off the surface of books and paper. It is a wise decision not to clean stains left by fire by using solvents or other foamy solutions. This will only result in deepening the stain. First, use this sponge to remove the soot from the surface. You can use it to clean fireplace mantels, screens, bricks, curtains and carpet.

Soot sponges are ideal for cleaning painted walls and ceilings. They can also be used to clean baseboards, areas above heat registers, heat registers, antiques, projection screens, lampshades, dashboards, speaker grills, oil paintings, woodwork, computer screens, vents, paneling, blinds, awnings and numerous other surfaces.

You can use dry soot sponges to wipe surfaces lightly in one direction after vacuuming. It is best to start at the top of the damages surface and then gently work downwards.

Chemical dry cleaning sponges, or soot sponges are also used in fire restoration work. These are 6″x 3″x 1 ½” in dimension. They are porous, and can be used both dry and wet. They draw dirt, smoke residue and soot. Under normal circumstances, the Soot Sponge can clean upto 12″x20″ of wall surface.
