Health is the Key to Happiness

Do you believe in the saying health is wealth? Some would agree with this and some would not. This is an old saying, but in my own belief, health is certainly more important than wealth because health is the key to our happiness. Each of us wants to live life to the fullest and no matter how many our money is if we are not healthy then we can never enjoy our lives. Health is a condition of a person in all aspects, a level of function and efficiency of an organism. Health is also defined as being a state of complete physical, mental and social well being, with the absence of disease or infirmity.

Each one of us has its own routine to achieve a healthy body. Ensure your health by doing the following:

Eating a well balanced diet is very important and one important factor for health. Your health merely depends on whatever you eat. If you don’t watch what you are eating, it just means you don’t really care about your body. If you want to feel good on the inside, start eating healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables and minimize or better yet avoid eating oily, greasy, salty, fatty and high sugar foods as these would cause certain diseases. In this way you can improve your healthy lifestyle.

Make sure you get enough sleep. A normal average sleep of an adult is six to eight hours. Sleeping can be considered as an important factor for a healthy lifestyle, but avoid oversleeping because it can also be bad as it will make a person lazy and out of touch. Also, lack of sleep can cause sickness. Having enough sleep does not only make you feel great but it is also a good way for you to look healthy and beautiful.

Exercise also one of the most common health benefits. We all need to move because that is the basis for all things we do. The energy we need comes from the foods we eat, it falls into 3 types: protein, fats and carbohydrates, and we need these to become energetic and to function well. By performing exercise, our body starts the beneficial process of metabolism. This process uses fat stored in our body part as part of the catalyst needed. So by performing exercise, your body is burning fat.

Take supplements and vitamins- Vitamin C has always been claimed to be an essential nutrient for overall health and well being. We cannot produce our own vitamins so we have to take supplement or eat foods that are rich with vitamins. Fruits and vegetables are very rich with vitamins and nutrients that our body needs, so it is necessary to add them to what we eat every day. Recent study has discovered breakthrough evidence that Vitamin C has a positive effect in preventing heart diseases and cancer. Regular taking of Vitamin C also reduces cholesterol and gallstones, lowering the risk of stroke and diabetes.

Follow all of these important routines and live life to the fullest. We only have one life to live so let’s make use of it well. Always remember that having a healthy lifestyle is the key to happiness. If they say health is wealth, I would say health is happiness.
