3 Must-Try Campfire Sandwich Recipes You Can’t Afford To Miss

The kitchen is limited when you’re outdoors. That’s why it’s ideal to prepare meals that are easy and not time-consuming. Sandwiches are always a good choice – they’re very easily put together and they’re filling. But you know what’s better than a sandwich? A sandwich made with a campfire! So avoid the hassle of cooking too much at your campsite, enjoy any of these delicious campfire sandwiches that are super easy to make!

Campfire Pizza Sandwich

What you need:

  • 1 English muffin
  • 3 pcs. Sliced pepperoni
  • Pizza sauce
  • Grated mozzarella cheese
  • Cooking spray

Slice the English muffin in half and spread desired amount of pizza sauce on each cut side. Sprinkle desired amount of mozzarella cheese. Place the pepperoni slices on one slice of the muffin then top with the other half to form a sandwich.

Spray a pie iron with cooking spray then place the muffin sandwich inside. Close and cook over a campfire for 4 to 6 mins. per side or to desired doneness. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

*Recipe is for 1 pizza sandwich. You can make as many as you can!

Chili and Cheese Combo

What you need:

  • 2 slices Pullman bread
  • 3 tablespoons chilli
  • 2 tablespoons shredded sharp cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon diced sweet onion
  • 1 teaspoon diced sweet pickles

Spread the chilli on both pieces of bread. Sprinkle both with sharp and cheddar cheeses then top with onion and pickles. Put the two slices together to create a sandwich. You can place the sandwich on a sandwich press or pie iron to toast over a campfire or wrap it in heavy duty aluminum foil on a grill pan. Heat only for 2-3 minutes!

Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Rolls

What you need:

  • 12 pcs. Hawaiian bread dinner rolls
  • 12 slices deli ham
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons grated onions
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

To prepare the spread, combine butter, mustard, poppy seeds, onions and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Stir to combine ingredients well. Slice the dinner rolls horizontally in half and spread each half with prepared spread.

Layer bottom halves with ham and Swiss cheese and top with top half. Wrap the rolls together in heavy duty aluminum foil. Place on a grill pan and toast over a campfire for 1-2 minutes or until cheese has melted.
